Book Launch in RA National Assembly

On September 12, in the foyer next to the Session Hall of the RA National Assembly the launch of the scientific monograph The Problem of the Sea Exit in the Foreign Policy of the Republic of Armenia in 1919-1920 written by the RA NA deputy Shirak Torosyan was held.

The RA NA Deputy Speakers Eduard Sharmazanov, Arpine Hovhannisyan, the RA NA deputies, lecturers, journalists and the representatives of the RA NA Staff attended the event.

The problem of the sea exit, one of the foreign political priorities of the First Republic of Armenia was comprehensively in the book. Regarding this problem the connections of Armenia with Georgia, Greece, England, France, Italy, the USA, Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey were scientifically showed, the RA Government policy of getting sea exit through Cilicia, Trabzon, Lazistan or Batumi and the reasons of its failure were examined.

The Deputy Speaker of the RA National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov congratulated Shirak Torosyan on the publication of the book: “This work contains rich scientific material, and it is very important for us, politicians.” Mr Sharmazanov noted that the monograph would be an important material for the participants in the parliamentary different assemblies.

Thanking the attendees, the author of the scientific monograph, the RA NA deputy Shirak Torosyan has noted that the study reveals the gaps, shortcomings and failures, which have been during the First Republic, as well as the achievements and successes, which become serious lessons for today’s policy.

Shirak Torosyan believes that the monograph will be useful for those involved in Armenia’s policy, diplomats, politicians, as well as for those who like popular scientific literature.
